The 2022 Q4 Workplace Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) training was held on 29th November – 1st December, 2022 at Global Environmental Health Solutions (GEHS) head office.

The objectives of the course were to:

• Equip participants with fundamentals knowledge on Health Safety and Environment issues that will assure a safe and healthy work environment

• Promote health, well-being, and quality of life of participants, thereby improving productivity and efficiency.

Twenty-three (23) participants drawn from government and private organizations participated in the training. The course, which spanned 3 days, was delivered through interactive and practical examples including power point DVD presentation that ensured knowledge was disseminated, accurately received, and understood by the participants. Topics covered included Introduction to HSE: General Workplace Hazards and Control; Office and Electrical Safety; Office Ergonomics and Manual Handling; Life Saving Measures Including First Aid and Medical Emergency Management; Environmental Awareness, Waste and Resource Efficiency; and Safe Driving Techniques. Others included Healthy Living for Enhanced Productivity; Fire Safety: Prevention and Protection including Practical Demonstration; Incident Causation, Investigation and Reporting; and Cyber Security Awareness. The course was generally evaluated to be successful, as participant’s rating for the different aspects were high.
